US Completes Belarus Prohibises for Forced Landing Travel

WASHINGTON: The Ministry of Transportation issued the last commandment of Tuesday which blocked most of the trips between the United States and Belarus, underlining Washington’s worries about the passenger jet forced landing incurred to arrest Dewangan Belarusian journalists.
Orders, requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bar Airlines from selling tickets for travel between the two countries, with exception only for human or national security reasons.
The Ministry of Transportation proposed a ban last week and said Tuesday that did not accept objections.
There is no direct passenger flight between the US and Belarus.
In May, Belarusian officials ordered Ryanair flights from Athens to Vilnius, Lithuania, to land in Minsk, where the authorities issued Raman Pratasevich’s journalist from the plane and arrested him.
Pratasvich faces a possible 15-year prison period.
President Joe Biden has called a forced divorce “outrageous incident” and joins others in calling for international investigations.
