The US Covid-19 case rose by around 11% during the previous week, almost all of them were not vaccinated, officials said on Thursday, because the Delta variant which was very contagious became the dominant Covid-19 tension in the country.
About 93% of Covid-19 cases in the past few days have occurred in the district with a vaccination rate of less than 40%, the US center for the control of the disease and Rochelle prevention director Walensky told media direction.
Initial data from the past few months showed 99.5% of Covid-19 deaths had occurred in people who were not vaccinated, he added.
“Simply put: in the field of low vaccination coverage, cases, and inpatient rises,” Walensky said.
The CDC earlier this week said that the Delta variant of Covid-19 has become the dominant tension in the United States.
Variants, which are very contagious, also become dominant in other countries throughout the world.
The Covid-19 case surged in the district representing 9 million people, Walensky said.
“Low vaccination rates in this district are coupled with high levels of case and loose mitigation policies that do not protect those who are not vaccinated from the disease of course and sadly lead to more unnecessary suffering,” he said.
Wall Street’s main index fell on Thursday as the distribution of Delta Covid-19 variants threw doubts for economic recovery.
The White House focused federal assistance to vaccinate and treat Covid-19 in countries including Arkansas, Missouri, Nevada and Illinois, said Jeff Zients, who led the Covid-19 response team Covid-19 White.
The White House last week said he would send a special team to hotspots around the United States to combat the Delta variant amid the increasing number of states throughout the country.
The White House also seeks to make a Covid-19 vaccine available at the doctor’s office throughout the country, Zias added.
He said the distribution of Delta variants was very dangerous for young people.
Research shows it can cause a more severe disease among younger people than other Coronavirus variants.
Walensky added that the United States saw the Covid-19 outbreak in summer camps and other community events.
He said that people who were vaccinated and were not vaccinated with the symptoms of Covid-19 must be tested for the virus.
