WASHINGTON: US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Monday spoke with Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh via telephone and reaffirming American commitment to strengthen bilateral bonds.
“The Secretary offered the deepest condolences for the loss of General Rumpat, Indian defense chief of staff, Mrs.
Rawatt, his partner, and all other Indian service members involved and killed in a helicopter accident on December 8,” Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby told reporters on His press conference.
“He also, of course, reaffirms US commitment to strengthen US-Indian bonds and to deepen our defense partnership,” Kirby said.
