US diplomats were arrested in Turkey for selling passports to Syria

Ankara: A US diplomat was arrested in Turkey last month for selling his passport to a Syrian who tried to travel to Germany, said Istanbul police on Wednesday.
They identified diplomats as “D.j.k.”, working at the US Embassy in Beirut.
The police said they had proof of video about diplomats exchanging clothing with Syria at Istanbul Airport before handing over a diplomatic passport, which had been identified as suspicious of passport control.
Diplomats, found carrying $ 10,000 in an envelope, captured, and remained in detention, police statement.
The US State Department did not immediately reply to email requests for comments.
The bonds between Turkey and the United States have been tense in recent years, at least for the detention of Turkey from US diplomatic mission workers who were accused of related to the network blamed by Ankara for a failed coup attempt in 2016.
