WASHINGTON: The US Congress Committee investigated January 6, 2021 which was deadly, the attack on the Capitol asked the Republic of Republican leader Kevin McCarthy on Wednesday to voluntarily answer questions about Donald Trump’s actions on the day of riots.
In a letter to McCarthy released in public, the committee selected the DPR said it asked his testimony on various topics, including his conversation with the former president before, during and after the attack.
The committee also investigated whether Trump advised McCarthy what he had to say in public and to investigators about their conversation on the day of the attack, according to the letter.
McCarthy and Trump met on January 28, 2021, in Palm Beach, Florida.
The previous panel had requested another Trump allies in Congress, representative representative Jim Jordan, to express the conversation he had with Trump on January 6, 2021.
Jordan said on Sunday he would not work with the Investertion Committee, call it unauthorized.
Two Republicans, representatives of Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, are members of the committee.
Chairman of the Select Committee, Representative of Bennie Thompson, said the panel was looking at whether he had the authority to issue a court for the Republic of Congress to force their cooperation.
