WASHINGTON: US households can order four tests at Covid-19’s house for free from the Covidtests.gov website starting on January 19 with expected delivery seven to 12 days after ordering, the White House said on Friday.
The free batch test aims to facilitate the lack of Covid-19 tests throughout the country amid increasing demand during the rapid spread of omicron variants.
The US government has contracted more than 420 million tests, the White House said.
President Joe Biden has promised to get 1 billion free tests for Americans, and more can be ordered in the future.
“We didn’t say we stopped there,” a senior administrative official told reporters in a conference call.
