WASHINGTON: The coalition 24 industrial organizations urged the White House to lift the restrictions of Coronavirus which made the most of the world traveling to the United States but a White House official told Reuters on Wednesday will need more discussion.
Group, led by the US Travel Association and represented airlines, casinos, hotels, airports, aircraft manufacturers, and others, urged administration for convenience on July 15 entry restrictions imposed last year because Coronavirus spread throughout the world.
Separately, 75 members of the US House of Representatives also seeks to east travel ban, especially restrictions on entering travelers from Canada and England.
In early June, the White House launched an interlagency work group with the European Union, England, Canada and Mexico to see how to finally raise the limit.
These meetings generally occur every two weeks.
“While these groups have met several times, there is further discussion to be owned before we can announce the next steps about repairing travel with any country,” White House officials told Reuters.
“We want to make sure we move intentionally and are in a position to reopen international trips sustainably when it is safe to do so.” 75 members of the US House of Representatives asked Biden to reopen the US border with Canada to tourists who are not important.
Parliamentarians in the letter quoted projections that if restrictions were not lifted, the United States could “lose 1.1 million jobs and an additional $ 175 billion by the end of this year.” Industrial groups also called for rapid restrictions for European and other travelers, calling as the first step to allow tourists who are fully vaccinated from high-risk areas such as the European Union to enter the United States.
Disease Control and Prevention Center (CDC) has raised concerns about the Delta variant of Covid-19 at a US government meeting, said the source.
The industry and US officials told Reuters that they did not expect administration to lift up immediately.
White House officials said labor groups between institutions had viewed “progress in our domestic vaccination efforts and the risks caused by the Delta variant.” CDC wants airlines to apply the search for international passenger contacts as part of all understanding of restrictions, said the source to Reuters.
The airline and others have suppressed the administration to raise the limitations that cover most recent non-US citizens in the UK, 26 Schengen countries in Europe without border control, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran and Brazil.
Some travel industry officials think more likely the limit will not be lifted until after a busy summer travel season.
75 Parliament members called for lifting restrictions that made the most of the British travelers and to develop “risk-based and data-based roadmaps to facilitate restrictions on inbound.” Some in Congress have also requested administration to lift the rules for travelers to wear masks at the airport, subway stations and airplanes and trains but are currently not considering raising these requirements, officials told Reuters.
Transportation security administration in April extended facial mask requirements on the way until September 13.
Last month, administration again surpassed restrictions on non-essential trips on the borders of Mexico and Canada until July 21.
