WASHINGTON: The bond between the United States and China has reached another low after Biden White Building invites Taiwan to the peak of virtual democracy on 9 and 10 December, causing Beijing to blow gasket and warn that Washington “plays with fire.” With bonds it was tense and Tetsy for several disputes and differences between Washington and Beijing, Taiwan, which China considered the rebel province that had to be reunited with the mainland of China, emerged as a new global flame point.
Amid fears of Chinese invasion to Taiwan and forced accession, President Biden has promised the island defense despite affirming one-Chinese policy.
On Monday, the US State Department crossed what China thought as other red lines, revealing a list of 110 participants including Taiwan and excluded China, and also Russia and Turkey.
India and Pakistan are among the invitations, along with the main European democracy, but the allies of the Gulf of Washington such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and UAE do not cut it.
“The Summit will focus on the challenges and opportunities faced by democracy and will provide a platform for leaders to announce individual and collective commitments, reforms, and initiatives to defend democracy and human rights in and abroad,” said the US brochure at the Summit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said leaders who participated in the Summit would be encouraged to announce specific actions and commitments to meaningful internal reform and international initiatives that advance the purpose of the summit.
These promises will include “domestic and international initiatives that fight authoritarianism, fight corruption, and promote respect for human rights.” Taiwan, who has closed economic relations with land even though there is tension, it is reported to only commit a low-level representation for the virtual summit, with only the minister of digitanya Audrey Tang and Ambassador of De Facto in Washington, who participated.
Still, US outreach to Taiwan was seen by Beijing as another provocation, with a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Zhao Lijian equalized to “play with fire.” Chinese Media Analysts and Outlets have repeatedly warned unspecified consequences because Washington continued to take a firmer attitude towards Beijing in the Indo-Pacific region, including promising Taiwan defense.
The next summit is the first of the two conclusions announced by the US.
The second, it is expected to be held at the end of next year, it will likely be his old event in Washington.
