WASHINGTON: US entrepreneurs set a record of 10.1 million job openings in June, another sign that the labor market and the economy bounced back quickly from last year’s Coronavirus shutdown.
Job openings rose from 9.5 million in May, the Ministry of Manpower reported Monday.
Employers employ 6.7 million workers in June.
The gap between openings and recruitment shows that the company scrambles to find workers.
The 1.3 million low record was dismissed or was fired in June.

It has rebounded with unexpected forces because the vaccine launch allows businesses to reopen or expand hours and encourage Americans who are deployed to come out again and visit restaurants, bars and shops.
However, the Delta variant that spread rapidly has overshadowed prospects.
Daily cases averaged more than 100,000, up from less than 12,000 at the end of June but fell around 250,000 in early January.
On Friday, the Ministry of Manpower reported that the economy produced 943,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate fell to 5.4% from 5.9% in June.
