An American journalist who was detained in Myanmar who was controlled by the military accused of incitement of dealing with charges of reciting and terrorism, his lawyer said on Wednesday, with a setback for us to secure his release.
Danny Fenster, 37, who managed the editor of Myanmar Frontier, the top independent news site, was detained at Yangon International Airport in May when he tried to take flights from the country.
Not immediately clear what was accused as small with a new cost, which was the most serious level of it.
If it is found guilty, it can be imprisoned for up to 20 years under the law of terrorism and 20 years for incitement.
“We don’t understand why they added more charges but it was clearly not good that they added costs,” his lawyer, rather than Zaw Aung, told Reuters.
“Danny also feels disappointed and sad about this new accusation.” The United States was repeatedly encouraged to release fenster, which was originally charged with incitement and violations of the ACT association that violated the laws of the colonial era.
He was detained at Yangon’s famous insin prison.

The US Embassy in Yangon did not immediately respond to a request for a comment.
