WASHINGTON: US delegation led by the White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan raised the death of Jamal Khashoggi’s journalist in talks with Saudi Arabia officials last week, said a senior US official on Monday.
Sullivan, Middle East Messenger Brett McGurk and other US officials met in Riyadh on September 28 with Prince Crown Saudi Mohammed bin Salman and other Saudi top officials.
The main point of conversation is to discuss conflicts in Yemen and how to arrange a ceasefire.
But a senior administrative official who gave a briefing to reporters about the visit to Washington this week about the Israeli National Security Advisor, Sinal Hulata, said the US delegation also brought the case of Khashoggi in general and human rights in general.
Khashoggi, US citizens who were Saudi-born who wrote the opinion column for the Kashington Post critical bin Salman, was killed and cut by the operator team related to the Prince at the Kingdom Consulate in Istanbul in October 2018.
