A US naval facility in Maryland who accommodated the famous Walter Reed National Military Medical Center was given “all clear” on Wednesday after being locked up for several hours due to a bomb threat, the base said on Twitter.
All personnel in Naval support activities Bethesda facilities were ordered to take refuge in place after the base received anonymous phone calls around 8:45 a.m.
EDT (1245 GMT) said there was a bomb in or near the site, the base said.
Shortly after 1 P.M.
EDT, the order of shelter is appointed and a number of gates at the facility have been opened.
The previous base said he was investigating potential active shooters, but then said there was no indication one.
In addition to treating members of armed services, Walter Reed medical facilities were also used by other senior government presidents and officials.
Last year, then-President Donald Trump spent several days in a special suite in Walter Reed treated for Covid-19.
