Washington: President Joe Biden said there were signs of “progress” in US inflation reports Wednesday, with prices rose in several main sectors slowing, even if the overall increase was the steepest in four decades.
“Today’s report – which showed a significant reduction in headlines inflation during the past month, with gas prices and fell food prices – showed that we made progress,” said Biden in a statement.
“At the same time, this report underlines that we still have more work to be done, with price increases are still too high and squeezing the family budget.”
