WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden on Friday the former Federal Reserve Governor Sarah Bloom Raskin to become the deputy chairman of the central bank for supervision and two black economists, Lisa Cook and Philip Jefferson, to serve at the Board of Governors, the White House said on Friday.
Nomination, if confirmed by the Senate, will fill the ranks of seven members who use extraordinary influences on the US economy and will make the Fed leadership more diverse by race and gender than before in 108 years history.
