Washington: US President Joe Biden will announce new steps to slow down the spread of Covid-19 before the UN General Assembly met, General Dr.
Surgeon.
Vivek Murthy Sunday.
Murthy didn’t determine what the steps were.
The next General Assembly session opened Tuesday; The first day of the general debate will be the following week.
Speaking to CNN on Sunday, Murthy defended Biden’s efforts to expand vaccination in the United States.
“There will be more actions that we continue to do, especially in front of the global,” he said.
Biden on Thursday said he would ask federal workers to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and the mandate that a major employer requires their workers to be vaccinated or tested regularly.
Biden said the United States has contributed 140 million doses of vaccines to other countries.
“It was American leadership on the global stage, and it was only the beginning,” he said.
