US sanctions Belarusian People, entities

WASHINGTON: The US declared sanctions against Belarusian entities and individuals on alleged human rights abuse and the 23 May Ryanair airport recreation episode.
The Treasury Department said in an announcement on Monday it had advised five things and 16 people, such as Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s press secretary and the chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, the Belarusian Parliament’s upper house, reports Xinhua news agency.
The State Security Committee, the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and their minds will also be on the blacklist.

Also on Monday, the European Union (EU) announced new sanctions from 78 people and eight entities in Belarus.
Seven of those individuals and one thing had sanctions issued in relation to everything the EU thought a forced landing of their Ryanair passenger airplane by Minsk along with also the alleged arrest of a dissident journalist aboard.
The Council of the EU stated that four rounds of prohibitive measures on Belarus currently employ to your total of 166 men and 15 entities.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken explained in another announcement the State Department imposed visa restrictions to 46 Belarusian officials.
Belarusian journalist Roman Protasevich along with his spouse Sofia Sapega were aboard a commercial flight involving Greece and Lithuania which has been rerouted on May 23 to Minsk soon before it touched Vilnius because of an alleged bomb threat.
No bomb was found, however, both were arrested.
