WASHINGTON: The United States will send 500,000 doses of covid-19 vaccine Pfizer Inc.
for Uruguay on Thursday, the White House said, amid a wider distribution to Latin American countries this week.
Shipping is part of President Joe Biden’s commitment to share 80 million vaccines from US domestic supply with countries around the world.
“Today we send 500,000 pfizer doses to Uruguay,” said White spokesman Kevin Munoz Building on a Twitter post.
On Wednesday, the White House said the United States sent 1 million doses of Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine to Bolivia and 1 million to Paraguay.
