New Delhi: India and the US will discuss ways to promote trade and investment in addition to increasing cooperation in the agricultural sector and intellectual property rights during this month’s meeting between US trade representatives Katherine Tai and an official said.
The two-day meeting will begin on November 22.
USTR visits India to revive the Trade Policy Forum (TPF), which has not been fulfilled for the past four years, the official said.
This meeting is also important because the 12th ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) is scheduled to start November 30 to December 3 in Geneva.
Both India and the US are members of 164 multilateral members of members relating to exports and global imports.
TPF is the main forum for resolving trade and investment problems between India and the US.
Bilateral trade between countries reaches $ 80.5 billion in FY21.
