WASHINGTON: The number of Americans who apply for unemployed benefits fell for the seventh week in a row to a low of 268,000 pandemic.
United States unemployment claims fell 1,000 weeks ago from the previous week, the Labor Department reported Thursday.
The application for unemployment assistance is proxy for layoffs, and their stable decline this year – after the 900,000 one week’s topping in early January – reflects the recovery of the labor market from a short but intense Koronavirus recession.

Until September 6, the federal government has completed the State Unemployment Insurance Program by paying additional payments of $ 300 per week and expanding the benefits for performing workers and for those who do not work for six months or more.
Including federal programs, the number of Americans who received several forms of unemployment assistance peaked more than 33 million in June last year.
