WASHINGTON: The number of Americans who submit unemployment benefits has reached the lowest level since the pandemic reached last year, further evidence that the US economy and the labor market quickly had rebounded from a Pandemic recession.
Thursday’s report from the Labor Department showed that unemployment claims fell 26,000 last week to 360,000.
Weekly calculations, proxies for layoffs, have fallen more or less steady since the topping of 900,000 in early January.
The US recovery from the recession runs so fast that many fortunies estimate that the economy will develop this year with around 7%.
It will be the most powerful calendar year growth since 1984.
The launch of the Covid-19 vaccine has sharply reduced a new virus case, from an average of seven days around 250,000 in early January to around 25,000 recently, even though there was a recent uptick this.
When the health crisis has receded, those who are summoned by Americans are increasingly emerging from their homes, eager to spend the items they have missed during a sturdy pandemic, dinner, round drinks, sports and entertainment events, vacation holidays and trips.
In response, business has rushed to fulfill the surge in unexpected customer demand.
They post job openings, a record of 9.2 million in May, faster than they can fill.
The lack of workers in many industries causes employers to increase wages and in some cases to raise prices to offset their higher labor costs.

Many Americans still have health problems about working around many people.
Many people, most women, no longer function or find work because they have to care for children when school and child care centers are closed.
And approximately 2.6 million older workers utilize the growing stock portfolio and home values for retirement early.

About half of the countries plan to stop paying supplement at the end of July in what the supporters say is an effort to encourage more unemployed to find work.
