WASHINGTON: The number of Americans who filed unemployed allowances rose last week even though there were signs that the US labor market rebounded from the Coronavirus recession last year.
Unemployment claims rose 18,000 to 206,000, still low with historical standards.
On average four weeks, which soften the volatility of week-a week, down 16,000 to less than 204,000, the lowest level since mid-November 1969, according to the Department of Labor leaders released on Thursday.
Overall, 1.8 million Americans received the benefits of traditional Sunday unemployment ended December 4, down 154,000 from the previous week.
