WASHINGTON: After the latest sanctions announced by China targeting several American citizens, the US said it was “unfriendly” and added that it was “full committed” to apply all relevant Washington sanctions authorities.
China on Friday imposed sanctions in seven individuals and US entities, under the anti-foreign sanctions law, in response to US sentences imposed on Hong Kong officials for democracy in semi-autonomous regions in semi-autonomous regions.
Reacting to him, White Press Secretary Jen PSAKI said that this action was the latest example of “How Beijing punishes citizens, companies, and civil society organizations as a way to send political signals and further describe the deteriorating RRC investment climate and increased political risk”.
“We are not affected by this action and we will remain fully committed to applying all relevant US sanctions authorities,” he said.

Previously, notification by the Asset Asset Office of the US Ministry of Finance (OFAC) indicated that seven Chinese-based officials based in Hong Kong were added to the list of specially appointed citizens.
Punishment is rumored to target individuals from the Hong Kong connecting office.
