WASHINGTON: The United States on Saturday led a group of western states and allies in the punishment of the Taliban for the “summary murder” former member of the Afghan security forces reported by groups of groups, demanding rapid investigations.
“We are very worried about reports of summary killings and forced disappearances, former members of Afghan security forces as documented by Human Rights Watch and others,” Read statements by the United States, the European Union, England, Japan, and others, released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Countries said the violations of the rights of “contradictory” amnesty for the former security forces were announced by the Taliban, who came to power in Afghanistan in August when the US-backed government in Kabul and the country’s military collapsed.
