USCIS to accept SNN request with a green card application

Mumbai: In the movement which is seen as the manufacture of more subtle immigration procedures, USCIS services and US immigration (USCIS) have announced that individuals who seek the status of permanent residents (green cards) can simultaneously apply for social security numbers (SSN) or replacement cards.
Previously, these individuals had to apply for SSN cards or replacement directly at the Social Security Office.
USCIS has updated the i-485 form (application for status adjustment) to include additional questions to facilitate SSN applications too.
The folding fee for form I-485 remains the same (currently US $ 1,225).
USCIS will be electronically sent this data to the social security office, which will then set SSN or issue a replacement card.
“The expansion of our partnership with this social security administration describes our commitment to operate the immigration system of our country more efficiently to save the applicant’s time,” Your Jaddou, Director, USCIS has stated.
Meanwhile in front of another, given the large backlog and the risk of expiration of almost 1000K plus a green card application at the end of September, USCIS has been directed for faster processing.
