Thane: In the midst of increasing Covid-19 cases in Thane City, the police on Friday urged shop owners, vendors and customers, to wear a mask to avoid the spread of viruses or teeth to pay Rs 500 just fine.
The announcement was made by police personnel from the Thane Nagar police station located near the market area and station.
Police also urge shop owners not to allow customers in stores if they don’t wear a mask.
“It is very interesting for everyone to wear a mask when the Covid-19 case is increasing and those who do not wore masks will be fined Rs 500,” police said while making an announcement.
Police also urge vendors and customers to come to the station to follow the rules when cases rise amid the threat of omicron variants.
Meanwhile, Thane City on Thursday reported a surge of 2,180 new Covid-19 cases.
At present, there are 7,718 active cases.
