PANAJI: Digging Sly in his opponent and Panaji candidate BJP Actiono ‘Babush’ Monserrate, independent candidate Utpal Parragar said he would not issue a guarantee of ‘100 days’ to the Panaji people.
The former Son of the Union defense minister refers to the Monserrate, which, during the 2019 Votestion which was required by the death of Manohar Parragar, promised that in 100 days, he would shift the casino from Mandovi.
Monserrate will later be extinguished and claimed to be affected if the casino is shifted.
After submitting his nomination on Thursday, Utpal launched a door-to-door campaign from Mala on Saturday, after looking for blessings at Maruti Temple.
“I will give an appointment that I will convey, and I will tell the Panaji people about my vision and they will choose me,” Utpal said, adding that Manifesto will be released soon.
He said he would try to meet everyone in Panaji during the campaign.
He said the situation forced him to make a decision to oppose the election.
MANOHAR Parragar represents Panaji for more than two decades since 1994.
After he increased until the position of Defense Minister Uni in 2014, BJP had lowered Aide Parragar Sidharth Kuncalienkar, who won a seat for BJP.
Kuncalienker also won the Assembly election in 2017, beating Monserrate, which was the United Gous Party candidate for Panaji.
When Parragar returned to the state as the main minister, Kuncalingar emptied the chair to the Parragar for the contest and BJP once again won the Panaji seat.
After the destruction of the Parragar, Kuncaleral and Utpal both claimed BJP claims during the 2019 Bypoll in Panaji.
But BJP denied the candidate for Utpal at that time.
Monserrate, who then Congress Candidate, made a dent in BJP Bastion to take a seat for the Congress for the first time since 1994.
