Uttar Pradesh 112 responds more than 29,000 emergency calls in Diwali

Noida: Uttar Pradesh 112 emergency services responded more than 29,000 calls on Diwali – an average of 20 cases per minute, according to police data.
Almost every fifth call on 112 related to fires or medical emergencies, data shows.
Overall, 29,285 calls were conducted on 112 on November 4 throughout the state, up from the daily average of around 17,000 calls, these characters showed.
Of these, 5,151 calls related to fires and medical emergencies, while the rest concerns the police issue, according to data.
In matters relating to the police, 17,905 emergency calls were received in 112 on November 3 (Chhoti Diwali), data showed.
“A total of 32,000 personnel and 4,500 police response vehicles (PRV) were deployed throughout Uttar Pradesh during Diwali,” said Director General of Police (112) Ashok Kumar Singh.
On Diwali Day, 4,748 residents asked for medical assistance while 403 calling up-112 for firefighters, according to official figures.
“On the occasion of the festival, officers and up-112 personnel not only worked to maintain law and order but also save lives by responding to emergencies,” Singh said.
“Some officers and personnel also carry a smile on the faces of the poor and who need by distributing sweets for them.
In many district districts, including Lucknow, PRV personnel share the joy of the festival with orphans,” added ADG.

Up 112 is an integrated emergency response support system for people who need police, fires, ambulances, etc.
Launched two years ago, 112 replaced the helpline number separate from the police (100), fire (102) and an ambulance (102).
