Uttar Pradesh: 62,423 hectares of land are released from the mafia in 4 years, 484 held

Lucknow: In the state in all states against Land Mafia, as many as 484 people were arrested and sent to prisons in the past four years.
Two of the arrest captured was slapped with the National Security Law (NSA) while 170-faced processes under the gangster acted too.
The government has also imposed Goonda laws at 399 other people who have been forced to occupy property.
A senior house department officer said that 62,423 hectares of land had been released in the past four years in the state.
The officer also said that the chairman of the Minister of Yogi Adityanath had vowed to take strict action against the Mafia land after assuming power in 2017.
The officer also said that in CM instruction, the Taskforce of the four-level anti-land mafia was formed which had simultaneously started a campaign to identify land mafia and start actions against them.
“To facilitate complaints against the Mafia Land, the government also starts the portal where everyone can register complaints at http://jansunwai.up.in/,” the officer said.
ADG Law and order Prashant Kumar said that in the past four years, the police have registered as many as 3,333 shots against 1,290 land mafia.
