Lucknow: The total number of Covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh increased to 17.07.446 on Monday as 96 more people were positively tested for infectious diseases while the death toll rose to 22,700 with two new deaths.
Twenty-eight new cases reported from Sitapur and 14 of Lucknow, said the state government in a statement issued here.
The last death was reported from Prayagraj and Azamgarh, he said.
A total of 112 Covid-19 patients were sent back after recovering from the disease the previous day, taking the total recovery of 16,83,170, the statement said.
The number of active cases at Uttar Pradesh stood at 1.576, he said.
So far, more than 6.08 crore samples have been tested in the state.
This includes 2.28 lakh samples tested the previous day, he said.
