Noida: Uttar Pradesh’s first air pollution control tower was set to appear along the DND toll road in Noida within two months of now, officials said on Friday.
The tower will be a pilot project that will be installed by Noida Authority in collaboration with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (Bhel) with the company’s social responsibility initiative (CSR), they said.
The tower will be a diameter of 20 meters high and 4.5 meters, and will be able to improve air quality in the area of ββone kilometer square, he added.
“Allows noida to breathe better! The air pollution control tower will be arranged in the green belt in the DND Expressway with the support of Bhel.
This pilot project will help improve the quality of the air in the area of ββ1 square km.
This will be the first of its kind in the state, “CEO of the Noida Authority Ritu Maheshwari tweeted.
“This tower is expected to be installed within two months.
Bhel funded the project under its CSR initiative, and the project’s operational costs must be distributed between Bhel and Noida authorities in the 50-50 ratio,” Maheshwari told PTI.
According to officials, Bhel managed by the government will be producing air pollution control towers and Noida authorities will provide space and location for operation.
More than the tower was in Noida after the first installation, an official Bhel told PTI, while Maheshwari said the future of the action would depend on the success of the pilot project.
