Lucknow: Continuing his investigation into the alleged conversion of illegal religions, anti-terrorist squad (ATS) from the Uttar Pradesh police arrested a businessman from Gujarat on Wednesday night.
The person arrested was identified as Salahuddin Jainuddin, 56, from Vadodara.
ATS also restored the iPhone, and iPad from ownership.
IG, ATS, GK Goswamy said that during the probe to the account of Bank Umar Gautam, who was arrested on June 21, it appeared that the transaction took place from the wrong account.
“The probe has shown an ‘hawala transaction’ exhibition from this account, an audit that is being done,” said Goswamy.
Other officers said Salahuddin was the relationship of ‘Hawala’ between Umar Gautam and his colleagues in the Middle East.
“We got transit shipments from the local court accused and would take him to Lucknow because they asked,” the officer said.
ATS said that the court conducted its order for Thursday about Detention Irfan Sheikh, Munna Yadav and Rahul Bhola, who were arrested on June 28 in connection with the case of conversion of illegal religion.
The three will be faced with Umar Gautam and the Mufti Kazi Jahangeer Qasmi for cross examination.
However, ATS officials can extend the detention of police custody of Umar Gautam and Qasmi to 3.
They were arrested on charges of changing around 1,000 people, including poor women and children with speeches.
