Lucknow: The Government of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday appointed beating Geel as the Director General of Police (DGP).
He replaced Hitesh Chandra Awasthy, who retired from the service on Wednesday.
Goel, the 1987-batch IPS officer, is in the central deputation, serves as an ADG, the Security Force (BSF) border, before taking over the post for the police.
He served as ADG, law and order, during the riots of Muzaffarnagar, replacing Arun Kumar in September 2013.
Resources in the House Department said Goel went to Delhi at night to submit charges of ADG (BSF) and the possibility of taking office on Thursday , As reported by TOI on Wednesday, UPSC has sent a panel of three names, including Goel, Nasir Kamal, which was posted as Director, National Criminology Institute and Forensic Science, New Delhi; and Rp.

As expected, the government chose Gelel to head one of the largest police forces in the world.
Previously, the DGP exited submitted allegations to ADG, Law and Ordia, Prashant Kumar as the last formality of his retirement.

Goel, a BTECH in the electronics field of IIT-Delhi and MBA, has handled communally-sensitive districts during his duty as police chief Saharanpur, Meerut and Azamgarh.
He also served as Deputy Inspector General of Police (Gali) in Agra and Kanpur.
During the SP regime between 2003-2007, Goel, as an excavation, the range of Agra, Goel was the Head of the Police Recruitment Board there.
However, all recruitment exercises in 2005-06 for the appointment of more than 22,500 police landed in troubled waters when Mayawati took over as CM in 2007 and ordered an investigation into recruitment.
Overall, 14 IPS officers had been charged in this case.
However, after power in 2012, the SP government attracted all cases related to suspected fraud.
Goel was replaced then ADG (law and order) Arun Kumar when he was looking for middle deputation in September 2013.
