Kanpur: Ahead of the arrival of the Head of Yogi Adityanath Minister, SP activists created a commotion in Rawpur.
SP workers say that the Metro project has begun with a former CM Akhilesh Yadav.
They accused that the BJP government claimed it as his own.
Anticipating protests, security forces have been deployed at the residence and party offices and opposition leaders.
The police put SP MLA Amitabh Bajpai under house arrest at Sarvodaya Nagar’s residence while President PSPL Ashish Chaubey at the city office located in Ashok Nagar.
SP and PSPL have called for protests near the Metro trial site.
To frustrate their plans, all entry points have been battered.
A large number of police have been deployed in and around the area.
Led by Vice President of SP City, Narendra Singh aka Door Thakur, a group of SP activists achieved Rawpur Metro Depot, Gurudev Metro Station, where they protested by holding the symbolic inauguration of Metro services.
They also released a black balloon.
The police did not allow the demonstrators to reach the venue.
