Uttar Pradesh: nine districts are now free Covid-19

Lucknow: Even as 42 new Covid-19 cases reported in the state, the number of Covid-19-free districts reached nine with active cases they counted zero.
This list includes Aligarh, Amroha, Basti, Ettense, Hathras, KasGanj, Kaushambi, Mahaga and Shraverti.
The total number of active cases for the country reached 729 which was 99% lower than the peak of 3.10 lakh cases reported on April 30.
Bulletin shows that 55 districts have less than 15 active cases including 11 with one active case.
The number of new cases took the overall calculation to 17.08.410 where 16,84,925 had recovered, speaking for a recovery rate of more than 98.6%.
Among the districts, more than three dozen recorded zero new cases.
Officials warn that even though there is a decrease in cases, preventive protocols are a must to keep all problems in the bay.
They also said that four Covid-19 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours with a total of 22,756.
Officials said that the number of people who were fully vaccinated had passed 75 lakh marks on Thursday and urged people not to ignore precautionary measures as a risk of pandemic infection and its complications remained high even now.
Many countries still record a large number of daily infections.
