Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the solved part of Kanpur Metro Rail and when he took a metro train at Iit Kanpur station and became the first passenger of the service.
PM Modi, who arrived at Kanpur on Tuesday morning, inaugurated the long ninekm part of the IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel which had been completed in a short time of two years.
PM, accompanied by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and ride the Minister of Yogi Adityanath, traveled from the IIT Kanpur Metro station to Geeta Nagar Station.
All nine stations on the Kanpur Metro line inaugurated and the train had also been decorated ornamently on that occasion.
The Iit-Kanpur Metro Station and Geeta Nagar were well maintained attracting the attention of PM Modi which looked fascinated and satisfied.
PM Modi has bought a ticket to take the Metro train and display it at Geeta Nagar Station after Toarding.
When traveling on the Metro, he was greeted by locals stood on their roof or on their balcony and PM also waved back to them.
The Chairman of the Yogi Adityanath Minister also waved in Denizens.
Metro services will be available daily from 6am to 10pm from Wednesday.
The Kanpur Metro Rail project consists of two corridors and has a total length of 32.5 km.
The first corridor of Iit-Kanpur to Naubasta is 23.8 km while the second of Chandrashekhar Azad Agriculture University to Barra-8 is 8.6 km.
The Metro completed part was inaugurated by PM was part of the first corridor.
