Lucknow: With the arrest of six drug vendors, the Special Task Force (STF) team claimed to have broken the gang while providing medicines to rejoice late night officials in Lucknow, New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
The people accused of being arrested from the Trisection Spot Picnic in the Indiranagar Police Station area, identified as Mohammed Qayum, Riaz Ali, Nafis Ahmad and Saddam Husain alias Raes (all of Bahraich), and Gulab Khan and Shahanshah from Ayodhya.
Qayum is a gang ginger.
The team restored 2.65 kg of metadon medicine worth RS 3 Crore on the international market, 12 cellphones, cars, SUVs, motorbikes, documents and Rs 6,500 cash.
“Qayum claimed that he was involved in the crime for the past 15-16 years and shifted to Ayodhya after the police began to hunt him.
He told the interrogator that he peddled drugs into various eastern districts and above and in Nepal,” said DSP, STF, DK Shahi.
Shahi said Qayum and his aides expanded their operations in other countries through their aide, Gulab Khan.
“Gulab Khan revealed that he and his colleagues came into contact with several men who used medicines in New Delhi.
The gang came into contact with their Delhi link through Skype,” said DSP Shahi.
The police said the defendant had gathered great wealth and received houses and shops built with this money.
They also buy SUVs.
