Kanpur: A 19-year-old woman allegedly raped and pushed to death from the 10th floor of a building by her employer, police said here on Thursday.
Accused of Prateek Vaish (40), a milk operator, initially tried to mislead the police but then claimed to be on his crime, an official said.
The defendant took the victim, who worked as his secretary, to his flat in Kalyanpur on Tuesday with the pretext of some official work.
He tried to persuade him to have a physical relationship by offering money but when he refused, he raped him, deputy commissioner of the police (West) said Murthy.
After he was raped, the woman threatened to report the problem to the police, after the defendant pushed him from the 10th floor balcony, resulting in his death, he said.
DCP said Prateek was arrested on Wednesday and produced in front of the Metropolitan Magistrate head.
He was sent to the judged detention by the court, he said.
