New Delhi: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Prayed on Friday night handed over his resignation to the State Governor of the Governor of Rani Maurya, almost four months after assuming the top position in the state.
His resignation came after uncertainty over the election commission that announced the Bypolls in the front of the assembly selection, which matured next year.
Tirath Singh Rawatt, a BJP MP member, will definitely be elected as MLA within six months assuming the office if he will continue his term of office.
Rawat, who replaced Trivendra Singh as the main minister in March this year, was summoned to the National Capital by the BJP Center leadership on Wednesday.
This has led to speculation that he might be asked to resign from his position.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand BJP will hold a legislative party meeting at 3 pm on Saturday.
The meeting will be chaired by BJP President of the Madan Negara Kaushik, the BJP Media State responsible for Singh Chauhan’s manveeer.
All MLA parties have been asked to attend meetings, he added.
The sources told Ti that the polling panel was impossible to make improvements in Haldwani and Gangotra – two empty seats – because there were less than a year to leave before the assembly period ended on March 23, 2022.
