Gurgaon: In the case of HIT-AND-RUN, a 35-year-old police from Uttarakhand died after being torn down by a vehicle in Shankar Chowk on the freeway Gurgaon-Delhi on Friday night.
Police, who came to Gurgaon for some work, crossed the road when the accident occurred.
Around 11:30 a.m.
on Friday, Constable Narender Singh Negi and his friend Deepak headed to Delhi in Honda City, police said.
They took the road under Shankar Chowk Flyover, instead of the main road but stopped the car.
Narender stepped out and hit by a vehicle when he tried to cross the road.
The impact was such that the police were thrown 10 feet into the air and landed on his neck in the distance.
A pedestrian rotates 100 and calls for an ambulance too.
Narender rushed to a private hospital, where the doctor said he died on arrival.
Satbir Singh, Police Station Sho of Udyog Vihar, said the police team rushed to the accident immediately after being told by the police control room.
“We found a man in uniform lying on the road, flowing blood.
We rushed to the hospital, but it was too late.
He was dead immediately after the accident,” Sho added.
Initially from Dehradun, narender was posted in Rishikesh.
However, a question remained not answered – why did the police try to cross the road at the night? Deepak, police said, was too shocked to give a statement.
“We have notified the police headquarters in Uttarakhand about the accident.
We have been looking for a narender pocket and finding his identity card.
His body has been stored in the corpse district.
The initial investigation has revealed that heavy vehicles were involved in the accident.
By the way, we tried to track the vehicle who escaped after the accident, “said Udyog Vihar Sho.
Cases are listed below section 279 (negligent rash and driving) and 304A (death due to negligence) IPC against unknown people.
Between January and May this year, 315 cases of road accidents were reported in Gurgaon.
And around 153 people lost their lives in 150 accidents on the road during the period, where 42 was pedestrian.
On the other hand, around 200 people suffered injuries on this road, where 37 was pedestrians.
