Nainital: After almost three months, the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) on Thursday emptied the stay and allowed the resumption of Char Dham Yatra.
The court only said that people who were fully vaccinated carrying Covid negative reports would be allowed to visit the Kedarnath Temple, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
The order came from the chairman of the Chauhan and Justice RS Alok Kumar Verma who heard the application transferred by the state government asked the court to allow Yatra who lived in court on June 28.
In addition, from the state government, even entrepreneurs and local traders also approach HC with the same request.
Meanwhile the state government states that it has greatly limited the number of people to each temple.
The government said that only 800 pilgrims would be permitted to Kedarnath every day while 600 people would be allowed to travel to Gangotri and 400 to Yamunotri.
The state said that 12.00 people will be permitted to Badrinath but the court limits the amount to 1,000.
The government added that only three people would be allowed to Sanctum Sanctorum from the temple at once.
The court has also directed the state government to place a number of police and the appropriate authority in each temple to examine propriety and compliance with the Covid protocol.
The bench added that the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) from Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag – the district where Shar Dham Shrins was – will send a weekly report to HC detailing the steps and status of Crins in each.
As reported by the previous Toi, HC on June 28 has lived in Char Dham Yatra quoting Covid’s worries.
Citing the threat of the upcoming third wave, the HC Division bench has mentioned the country’s decision to enable Yatra against the commemoration of experts and the scientific community.
Although the country challenges orders at the Supreme Court (SC) there is no hearing held, eventually the country attracts its SLP from the APEX court and submits the application before HC.
