Dehradun: The Legislative Party BJP Uttarakhand will meet today at 3 pm to choose a new leader after Tirath Singh was hospitalized as the main minister on Friday night.
In the midst of due to the new pick, the Head of State BJP Madan Kaushik has confirmed that the new minister’s head will come from between the MLA Party.
There are at least half a dozen legislators who are considered as derematers for the main post.
The names that do the rounds include former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, Minister of Tourism Satpal Maharaj, Minister of Bishhan Singh Chuphal, Pushkar Dhami legislator, Head of the Madan Caushik Party and Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat.
However, the sources did not rule out the possibility of BJP surprising as happened in the case of Tirath Singh Riaawattata a few months ago.
The meeting, which will be held at the State Headquarters in Balbir Road, will be led by Agriculture Minister Union Narendra Singh Tomar, who has been appointed as a central observer by the party.
After his arrival in the state capital, Narendra Tomar told the media people, “We will consult with all MLA before receiving a new CM call.” According to sources, Trivendra took care of as a danger between possibilities.
After serving as chairman of the minister for four years, he had the administrative experience needed to direct the country for a balance sheet of about six months unlike new petellings that might need time to settle.
Maharaj Satpal is also considered a strong competitor because he has a good follower base, especially in Garhwal Belt.
It would be interesting to see who finally won the race to the top.
The New First Minister will lead the party in the State Assembly election, which is likely to be held early next year.
