Thiruvananthapuram: The Minister of Public Education V Sivankutty has repeated his support for efforts to build gender justice at school by introducing a gender neutral uniform.
The minister said that the Ministry of Education would continue to support efforts in this direction.
“The Ministry of Public Education has been welcomed the decision taken by the Government of LP of the Valikan Chirangara Government in Ernakulam regarding the introduction of a gender neutral uniform.
The department welcomes a similar decision taken by the HSS Balussery girl too,” said Sivankutty.
Changed world spirit must reflect in the education system too, the Minister said.
It has been stated that the textbook will be subject to a gender audit when it comes to the syllabus revision.
“The education process can move forward only by absorbing progressive changes in society.
That does not mean that anything will be driven by unilaterally.
Nothing will be forced to make movement of their willingness.
