‘Vaccination is found to reduce up to 50% mortality in patients

Hyderabad: Vaccination against Covid-19 either by Covishield or Covaxin will help reduce the mortality rate of 50% in hospitals hospitalized, revealing a shared research study by teams from the city center for cellular and molecular biology (CCMB) and the Gastroenterology Institute (CCMB) and Asia AIG).
The study found that Covishield and Covaxin, which is the only vaccine available in India when the study was conducted (April 24 to May 31, 2021), effective in preventing the severity of the disease and mortality of the Delta variant (B.1.617.2) in hospital patients Inp of which is fully vaccinated.
This study, which appeared on the Online Preprint platform, Medrxiv, on July 13 it was updated on July 16.
While 3.45% of patients who were not treated at the hospital died fighting the Delta variant, only 1.51% of patients were hospitalized which were fully vaccinated with a new variant that triggered.
Covid-19 second wave in India.
Those who received a single dose vaccine had a mortality rate of 3.35%.
“The severity of the disease (the severity requirements / ICU when entered) was significantly low in a vaccinated group when compared to those who were not vaccinated (3.18% versus 7.06%).
Low ventilation support requirements also (2.8% versus 5, 7%).
There is no significant difference seen in the incidence of acute kidney injury, requirements for kidney replacement therapy or thrombotic complications between the two groups, “said research study.
Referring to mortality, the researchers said death was 50% lower in individuals who were fully vaccinated (completed 14 days after receiving the second dose) being hospitalized with Covid-19 when compared to individuals who were not vaccinated.
“These results become more significant in the light of comorbidity and higher ages in vaccinated groups.
The majority of individual deceased which is fully and vaccinated partly does not have a minimum antibody response that is proportional to individuals who are not vaccinated.
Strategies targeting this non-respondent to such vaccination Additional booster doses or changes in vaccines need to be further explored, “their advice.
