New Delhi: Immediately, you might have your Covid vaccination status printed on your flight boarding boarding, making the hassle of your trip free and smooth.
The government works on the provision of fire for vaccination status when the web check-in with a cellphone number.
It also explores the possibility of having vaccination status printed on all boarding passes – including those released in place.
The application programming interface (API) is needed to unite the application to perform functions designed around data sharing and carrying out predetermined processes.
API will also ensure the authentication of end to end, while passengers will not be asked to bring their certificates to verify, the official source said.
This step is intended to facilitate tourists, especially those who go abroad because some countries have raised problems with certification.
“We work with the Civil Service Ministry to provide APIs for vaccination status when the web check-in through a cellphone number.
It may also be possible to print vaccination information on the boarding pass itself,” said an official told toi.
This step assumes significance because most people have returned to traveling with the economy and countries that open after a long gap because of the Covid-19 outbreak.
However, vaccination has become the main criteria for countries to allow entry into travelers.
While India has reached an agreement with 96 countries to recognize the vaccination certificate, its status if printed on the boarding pass will make the procedure easier, smoother and faster.
It will also help authority and the state to verify status internally, eliminate the scope of manipulation.
At present, India has provided more than 112 doses of covid vaccine crore.
While around 80% of adult populations that qualified above 18 years have received at least the first dose of vaccines, more than 39% are fully vaccinated with both doses.
