Mumbai: After the break during Diwali and weeks to the festival, vaccination increased significantly on Monday with almost 5 lakh doses managed throughout the state, including one lakh in Mumbai.
The state is likely to complete 10 Covid Crore-19 vaccinations on Tuesday.
According to Cowin, a total of 4,89,479 doses were given in the state on Monday, taking the number of cumulative vaccination to 9.96 crores.
The state has given at least one dose to 6.8 crores, while 3.2 Crore has been fully vaccinated.
In the first week of November, the average daily vaccination dropped to less than 1.5 lakh.
In Mumbai, a total of 1,07,155 doses were given on Monday, taking total vaccination to 1,43,99,698.
The city has provided at least one vaccine dose of up to 99% of the adult population of 92.4 lakh.
According to Cowin, 62% have received a dose in Mumbai until Monday.
Of the 1 dose of lakh, 85,933 is the second and 21,222 first.
Dr.
Mangala Gomare, BMC executive health worker, said they had begun to enter the focus on the second dose vaccination.
Environmental-level war rooms have begun to call people due to the second dose.
“We can also install camps in areas if there are many waiting for the second dose and there is a problem of accessibility,” said Dr.
Gomare.
Civil officials say there may be three categories of people whose names are missing from the second dose recipient, people who have been vaccinated outside Mumbai, who have been vaccinated with doses but their records have not been updated due to mistakes and people who are due but have not taken Jab.
In all states, more than 2.35 crore people are waiting to get their first dose.
A state official said that the door-to-door vaccination began in several districts, the number is expected to increase over the next few weeks.
The previous state official hoped that almost all eligible people would get at least one vaccine shot before the end of the year.
