New Delhi: The center has asked the country to “carefully authenticate” anti-covid jab before giving it to people.
This step came after the World Health Organization raised concern last month about the fake version of Covishield circulating in the international market.
While the center has told the countries about certain parameters that they must monitor to recognize counterfeiting, the Ministry of Health again issued a letter to the countries earlier this week, asking them to keep an eye on.
In a letter to the State and UTS, Dr.
Manohar Agnani, an additional secretary in the Ministry of Health, highlighted information about the original vaccine label and additional information from vaccines currently used in India – Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V.
Agnani asked the state to share information with Program manager and service provider.
