Vaccines on the open market will hardly make a difference, feel expert

Nagpur: Although the government has now provided regular market approval for covid covishield and covaxin vaccines to be used in adult populations that are subject to certain conditions, experts feel that the move will not make a difference.
In contrast, India must export vaccines to countries in need and terminate inequality in the distribution that must be removed by pandemic, the doctor said.
“If India has an excess production capacity of vaccines, it must sell or give them free costs to other countries where vaccination coverage is low,” said Dr.
Ravi Wankhedkar, Treasurer of the World Medical Association (WMA).
He showed that there were only 8% vaccination on the continent of Africa.
“To end this pandemic, it is important for everyone on the planet to get a minimum of two doses of vaccines,” he added.
Public health experts Dr.
Nilesh Vighne said that there had been free vaccination trends in India and not many common people would prefer to buy vaccines.
“This is evidenced when the government saves a 25% vaccine provided for private hospitals before.
Private hospitals cannot use vaccines.
Their shelf life expires,” Dr.
Vigne said, added, there might also be a logistical problem regarding the vaccine data and security provided from Open market.
Pediatrician Dr.
Sanjay Marathe raised the problem of documentation of a vaccinated population.
“Until now, the government has maintained a record of vaccinated people very carefully.
There is a system in a place that ensures that someone will vaccinate first and then get a certificate.
Who will keep the open market vaccine record?,” He asked.
“It is good that the indian-made vaccine gets market approval.
This proves that our vaccine is safe and effective.
But this step can help only those who want to get their booster dose in a broad personal setting,” he added.
Some doctors found this step on time.
“Everyone wants a booster now.
So, makes it paid and available on the open market will save the crores of the government rupee.
Those who want to get a booster dose can buy their vaccine.
Otherwise they have to wait their turn to fit their age group,” said Dr.
Vikram Reddy, a doctor.
