Vadodara: A 9-month-old baby among the five cases of omicron

Vadodara: The genome sequencing report revealed that five people were more infected by the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
These include nine months old babies, three without international travel history or close contact with someone infected with a variant.
Baby boy from Gotri is the case of the youngest Omicron to be detected in the city.
He was tested for travel reports and found positive for Covid-19.
Babies do not have international travel history.
Couples from Diwalipura areas in the city, including a 63-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, has been tested positive for Covid-19 on December 24.
They have returned from Kolkata on December 17 and sick later.
They were tested on December 24 and found positive.
Omicron cases are new including a 50-year-old man from Karelibaugh and a 23-year-old woman from Manjalpur.
They have returned from the US on December 20 and December 27.
Both of them felt unwell on December 28 and found Covid Positive.
The samples they were sent for genome sequencing.
Reports on Wednesday confirmed that they were infected by a variant of Omicron.
Men from Karelibaug, meanwhile, went to the US on Tuesday following a negative test follows a strict home insulation.
The total number of cases detected omicron in the city now stands at 30.
