Vadodara: The crime branch who is now investigating a rape case of a law student questioned two dozen people on Saturday.
This case received a munkier on a more detailed day of the complainant and from the defendant came out in public.
Police officials said that detailed statements of victims of rape were recorded.
The police have also questioned the owner of the apartment where he lives in Diwalipura, an employee of Chartered Ashok Jain’s accountant, his relatives, hotel owners in alkapuri and other witnesses.
The police also said that luxury cars and other suspicious cars where the defendant had taken the woman was also confiscated.
“Separate teams have also been formed to capture Bootlegger Alpesh Wadhwani alias Alpu Sindhi in connection with prohibited cases.
We want to ask him about this too,” said ACP D Chauhan.
Senior police officers said that they did not leave the stone missed by Nab Jain and accused Raju Bhatt because the team had been looking for them in Gujarat and outside the country too.
The police have also initiated the process of getting an arrest warrant under the 70 CRPC part of the court and attaching the qualities of two accused.
Meanwhile, the sources close to Jain claim that there is no truth in the complaint submitted by the woman.
To prove their claim, the sources close to Jain showed a screens’ catch from the alleged WHATSAPP chat between Jain and the woman.
Chat showed that there was a friendly relationship between the defendant and the complainant until September 16.
The alleged last message to Jain on September 16 was about thanking him and told him that he would go to his hometown the next day.
The source also stated that the injury that according to the woman was caused by Jain and Bhatt was actually caused by Sindhi on September 14.
They claimed that the next day the woman had called Jain at the early hours to tell her about the incident.
“If Alpu Sindhi will be nabbed and they are interrogated the reality will appear forward,” said the source.
It was alleged that the original intention was to extort the money from two accused but when things did not change according to plan, Sindhi asked the woman to submit a case against Jain and Bhatt.
But the police did not buy this theory.
“Whatever the woman said was true and our team was investigating to collect as much as possible.
If the defendant said that they had been trapped, then why did they not approach the police and provide evidence,” said a senior police officer.
