Vadodara: With the Reservoir Ajwa reaches the level of 212.15feet above sea level on Saturday, he has taken care of water requirements in the city.
The reservoir level increased consistently in recent rain spells.
Previously, despite rain in the city and its surroundings, there was no significant increase at the reservoir level due to low rainfall in the catchment area.
The most significant increase at the reservoir level was seen in September.
Until the recent round, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) worried about the availability of drinking if it was not raining.
The correspondence has begun with Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd (SSNNL) to ensure the water supply from the project to the Ajwa reservoir.
Additional City Engineer Information (Water Works) Amrut Makwana said that the water level in the reservoir was sufficient until the next monsoon.
He added that at the current level even with more rainfall, there is no urgent need to release water too.
“Only if there is a very heavy rainfall, there will be a need to release water,” Makwana said.
